Modern Warfare Warzone

Warzone, the Battle Royale Version for Modern Warfare will release tomorrow, on 3/10/20.

See the original tweet from Infinity ward for the release video.

Game Modes

It looks as though there will be 2 game modes in Warzone, Battle Royale, which will support up to 150 players in a mode similar to that of Blackout on Black Ops 4, or Fortnite. Additionally, there will be a game mode called Plunder, which will require you to collect the most cash, through looting, stealing and completing various objectives within the game mode.

One way or another, Warzone promises to add more gameplay variety and options for not only the current Modern Warfare player, but for Free-to-play players as well.

Game Map – Verdansk

The Warzone map will include a lot of familiar places and be carried out an a large map called Verdansk. The map features oceans, mountains, a stadium, lumber yard, graveyard and even an airport. There will no doubt be countless locations to explore, but do so before the gas cloud rolls in.

Drop Screen

Drop In Screen Showing some of the In-Game Locations

So off the Drop Screen, which we’re calling it, you can see quite a bit of information, first, you get what is called a Circle Timer, this timer displays how long until the circle of gas starts to collapse. Second the Gulag, where you go if you die to try to fight your way back into the Warzone. Additionally, the map is sectioned into 100 sections, A-J & 0-9, which we’ll call quadrants or sections.

You also get a legend along the side that shows the following information:

Squad

Your Squad (only 3 members), Squad leader Ping (where your squad leaders wants you to drop), as well as a Loadout Drop.

Contracts

It appears as if there are 3 different types of contracts available, Bounty, Recon and Scavenger.

POI

This appears to be a station where you can buy items, most likely using your in game Plunder.

Vehicles

This shows the variety of Vehicles that will be available in Warzone, ATV, SUV, Heli, Cargo Truck, Tac Rover.
