Blueprints or Custom Loadouts

So we wanted to do a quick video to discuss Blueprints, vs. using the Gunsmith to create the same Custom Loadout.

Some Questions: Do they perform the same, do they look the same, why would you want to use a blueprint, or pay for one?

Is there any functional difference?

Maybe – This is only a maybe because in the most recent Patch notes, it was stated “Fixed an issue where “The Line Breaker” variant of the EBR could out perform the base version of the same weapon.” This then draws into question whether other Blueprints may Outperform their gunsmith counterpart.

On the whole though, they are the same, with no functional difference. If there is a difference, it is an error.

Do they Look the Same?

No, there are usually major cosmetic differences between a blueprint and it’s gunsmithed counterpart, take the following example.

You can see that the stock is completely different looking, and several of the other aspects of the gun are all visually different.

What is the Benefit of using a Blueprint?

For one, it is the cosmetic difference that you cannot get with the normal gunsmithed loadout, but that really is of no actual benefit because there is no performance benefit to having a blueprint over it’s same build in the gunsmith.

Beware though, some attachment combinations are built more to look visually appealing, and in game do not actually function well together.

The primary benefit of a blueprint is to unlock a set of attachments at earlier levels than you may already have unlocked on the weapon. In the case above, the 5 attachments on Cagefighter unlock at the following levels, 15, 22, 28, 34 & 52. If your M13 is already max level, then you can just build the loadout with the same functionality, with only a loss of cosmetics.

The secondary benefit is to provide players with customization ideas they may not have thought of already. These blueprints offer good build ideas for attachments that work decently together.

There is one last benefit of using a blueprint over a normal loadout, and this is the Special Effects: Tracers or Dismemberment. Some of the blueprints offer special colored tracers, which at this point have come in pink, red, blue and green. Additionally, there are a few unique blueprints that add a dismemberment feature where the person you kill almost seems to explode, or blow apart.

Overall, Blueprints are fun to use, and in many cases very helpful. If you are looking to build comparable loadouts, check our our various pages to see some of the prior blueprints.

Season 1 Battle Pass Blueprints
Season 2 Battle Pass Blueprints
Season 3 Battle Pass Blueprints

There are a variety of in Store blueprints, almost too many now to keep track of, as there seem to be new bundles daily.

If you want to use a Blueprint Loadout, but aren’t sure at what levels the attachments unlock, check out our Weapon Infographics Page which has all of the weapons with all of the attachment unlock levels. That way you will be able to see how far you might have to level up a weapon in order to use the loadout. This may help you decide if you are going to purchase or go after the Blueprint, or just level up the weapon.
