AUG Top Class Setups
Today we are going to review some Top Class Setups for the AUG SMG in Modern Warfare.
The AUG is one of our favorite weapons in the game because of its versatility. It is somewhere in between a SMG and an Assault Rifle. It is what we would call the step-brother to the GRAU 5.56. While the GRAU is an Assault Rifle which could be an SMG, the AUG is an SMG which could be an Assault Rifle. As such, it fits our gameplay as we typically vary our gameplay between close and mid-range combat.
The AUG has a secondary ammo with the NATO 5.56 rounds which slightly alter the damage and range of the weapon. For more info, visit the AUG page where you can see the infographics which have all of the weapon stats, unlock levels, camo requirements and more.
AUG Top Class Setups
AUG Setup #1 – Weapon Level (55)
This is a fun setup to run with the AUG. This setup is good in CQ maps like Shipment. The Compensator / Commando Foregrip combo almost eliminates the recoil on the AUG, the 5.56 ammo adds damage and range, but decreases ADS speed. The Tac Laser and Stippled Grip tape help offset the mobility penalties of the 60 Round Drum.

AUG Setup #2 – Weapon Level (55)
This loadout is a bit more effective at taking out targets at Range. With the 622 Long barrel, the ADS is a bit slower, so ensure to pre-aim your targets.

AUG Setup #3 – Leecher Legendary Blueprint
The Leecher Legendary Blueprint for the AUG was a Season 1 Blueprint. It was unlocked if you purchased the Battle Pass at Level 71. If you missed out on Season 1, but still want to duplicate the Loadout for Leecher, you can do so here. You’ll need to get the gun to Level 44 though.

Here’s another balanced AUG Loadout with a blend of ADS speed and mobility.

AUG Setup #5 – Weapon Level (11)
Here’s a last loadout for players that are level 11 or so looking to start building out their AUG.

We recommend when hitting level 16 to add the 32 Round Mags and at level 17, to Swap out the Merc Foregrip for the Commando Foregrip (17). If you want to remove the optic, do so around level 15 and you can add in the FTAC Ultralight Hollow stock when at level 15; that or you can keep the optic and remove FMJ.
This loadout should be effective to help get you going for the next 10-15 levels or so.
Key Attachments for the AUG
Commando Foregrip (17) + Compensator (38) – This combination all but removes much of the Recoil the AUG has. It is highly Recommended.
5.56 NATO Rounds: 30 Round Mags (28), 60 Round Drum (44) – These add damage and Range, but at the penalty of increased recoil. You’ll see that in several of our loadouts where we add the NATO rounds, we pair with the Compensator and Commando Foregrip.
Hopefully these AUG Top Class Setups give you some ideas so you can start leveling up your AUG. We recently got the AUG to Gold, and like we said earlier it’s one of our Favorite weapons in the game, as well as one of the most powerful weapons in Warzone.
