This is the Max your Legendary Mod Slots Guide for Cyberpunk 2077. Wondering how some players seem to “Get Lucky” by finding the Legendary pieces of gear with the Max Mod Slots, or the +15% Crit Chance and +30% Crit Damage Mod Slots in them. It’s not luck!

By reading this guide, you will soon learn the simple trick in order to ensure you can get get Legendary pieces of gear with the max mod slots, or specific mods on them.

Max Legendary Mod Slots on Level 5 Street Kid - Cyberpunk 2077

This Character of mine is only level 5 and has 3 Legendaries with Max Mod Slots already, so yes, this can be done early in the game!

Legendary Mod Slot Trick

When you come upon a Legendary Item, as evidenced in this picture here, what you want to do is save the game, prior to picking up the Legendary Item. Then you want to investigate and see what mods, if any the item has. If the legendary doesn’t have max slots, or the various mods you might want, then exit to the save menu and re-load the game. The game will “Re-Roll” the item and it will have either more or less slots and new mods. Keep doing this until you get one that is suitable.

Max Mod Slot Numbers

3 Slots – Head Gear ( Head & Face)
4 Slots – Upper Body (Outer Torso & Inner Torso)
3 Slots – Lower Body (Legs & Feet)

This means that a fully modded kit of Clothing will have 20 available mod slots.

Ideally, what you would like to find is an item with the full mod slots and one or both of the Legendary Mods (+15% Crit Chance or the +30% Crit Damage) attached to it.

Here is the Original Drop from this Legendary, you can see that it has 1 mod slot. Let’s Re-Roll!

Here is another drop from this Legendary, in this case it had 2 mod slots, so I re-rolled.

This particular drop only had 2 mod slots, not 3, which is what I was looking for, however I got both a Crit Chance and Crit Damage mod, so I kept it.

Sometimes it may take quite a few Re-Rolls to get what you want. Be patient though as you will eventually get something good. (See the Header Image, that’s an Upper Torso Legendary with 4 Mod slots and it also had a Crit Chance and Crit Damage Mod Attached!

I hope this helps, so that when you come across those legendary items, you take full advantage of them!!

One Last note, some items may not be a Guaranteed Legendary Item. What I mean by that is that some of them, when you re-roll them, may turn to epic quality, just keep re-rolling the item.
